More Kind Words About ‘Chop Shop’

Another nice wee review, don’t get the Stephen King reference though: “Morton’s one of those inspirations you HAVE to watch, and for one good reason: he defines writing as a vocation; its precise, its remarkably sharp, like reading Micheal Amis or Rushdie, or even Colm Tolbins – with a certain Stephen King sensibility… correction, Stephen King “good qualities-minus-all-the-bad-shit-he-does-in-his-book” perkiness and its refreshing” Shehroze Ameen.

  1. hahaha When I wrote about the Stephen King Reference, I meant Stephen King a la “The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon” and “Pet Cemetery” and “Shawshank Redemption” as well as his short stories. He was good with those books. All the bad shit was basically the stereotyping and at times amateur writing mistakes which can’t be forgiven.

You’re short stories are scary, and that’s something King was good at with some of his short stories, and “Pet Cemetery” in particular.

Thank you for the feature, appreciate it.
